Wild Dianthus

This is my contribution to Cee’s CBWC challenge: circles and curves.

This little flower is a real die-hard. Many years ago a learner in my class brought the plant to me in a handsized shell. It made long unsightly stems and 2 beautiful red-pink flowers. After 2 years the plant was still alive and proliferating! So I grabbed a little corner of the flower bed in front of the flats, broke the shell and put the mass of roots and stems in the soil. The happy little plant just threw out it’s shoots and keep on growing. We had to cull it this year. And still it is flowering and bringing me joy.

Ek is 'n mamma, 'n juffrou, 'n geliefde. Om woorde te gebruik om kreatief te wees, is 'n nuutjie. Maar wat 'n fees.
