FOTD: 2 December

This is part of Cee’s Flower of the Day challenge.

Dandelion. This flower is an intruder in Southern Africa. It perportedly came from the UK during a war – seeds apparently came in together with horse feed during the Anglo Boer war. Now it is part of the weed population here. But still the tortoises discovered it and love the flowers.

      1. Dandelion is very good for liver cleansing and health, kidney health (like Chandra Pieda), immunity boost, Antioxidant, helps remove toxins from the body, May help to lower blood pressure and blood sugar, may help with reduction of cholesterol, can be used as a diuretic, can help as an anti inflammatory. You can use the whole plant, mostly people make tea from the roots or the leaves. Might want to hold off on the root tea if you have painful gall stones as they promote the gall bladder to work harder that can cause some problems. Some of the milk thistle now comes with Dandelion and is a brilliant product to use. Big research going on in regards to Dandelion on the potential help regarding cancer treatments and HIV treatment.
