Lens-Artists Challenge#123 Neighbourhood

It is my pleasure to take part in this challenge. I have 2 neighbourhoods – one is at school and one is my flat.

Photo one is such a stark contrast. In one instance you see the jungly gym – a safe place for children to play and develop, at a background of green trees and lawn. But from inside the corridor the reality of life in South Africa is stark – burglar bars to keep children safe from the lawlessness bourne in squattercamps surrounding our hometown Grabouw.

This is my view from the back balcony of my block of flats. I have the best flat. Top, away from the street, with uninterrupted views of the mountains front, side and back. This is the neighbourhood where I live.

Ek is 'n mamma, 'n juffrou, 'n geliefde.
