
It is my pleasure to take part in this challenge. I have 2 neighbourhoods – one is at school and one is my flat.
Photo one is such a stark contrast. In one instance you see the jungly gym – a safe place for children to play and develop, at a background of green trees and lawn. But from inside the corridor the reality of life in South Africa is stark – burglar bars to keep children safe from the lawlessness bourne in squattercamps surrounding our hometown Grabouw.

This is my view from the back balcony of my block of flats. I have the best flat. Top, away from the street, with uninterrupted views of the mountains front, side and back. This is the neighbourhood where I live.

Tragies om te dink dat vroeër n mens ongebonde die kinders kon laat speel in die parkies en nou is daar nie eers geleentheid om die parkies te geniet nie. Snaaks genoeg hier begin hul al meer en meer hul erwe omhein omdat daar heelwat stout jong mense is wat motors steel en sommer jou goed uit jou huis sal wegdra as hul kans kry.
